Cannabigerol is one of the organic compounds found in the cannabis plant—aptly named cannabinoids. It is considered a minor cannabinoid, as a harvested plant will generally contain up to 1% of CBG (rarely up to 2%).
CBG vs. CBD
CBD and CBG both derive from cannabigerolic acid. But while they do have a lot of similarities, they are also very different cannabinoids.
Starting with some of the similarities, both CBD and CBG act on the endocannabinoid system, and share a wide array of potential benefits. For example, cannabinoids have exhibited antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidant properties in a wide array of studies. Our full spectrum cold extracted oils test out between 64-70% CBD. This cold process leaves a better quality full spectrum that includes more of what you want and less of what you don't. At a temperature around -40° we are able to maximize the cannabinoids (non-polar) and cannabinoid-acids (polar) yield while minimizing the undesirable compounds like chlorophyll and waxes.

Why Cold Extraction is better than CO2
Once harvested, our hemp is extracted here in Colorado using a food-grade ethanol cold extraction process. This process is superior to CO2 extraction because the plant does not have to be obliterated before extraction. In CO2 extraction, the plant has to be turned into a powder like substance before extraction. During this process, many of the beneficial volatile terpenes are destroyed. Lastly, because of a process called winterization, most CO2 processes are not solvent free (a common misconception).

Why 2oz Tinctures and Not 1oz?
Axis Labs CBD Oil tinctures may stand out from other products on the market because we use a 2oz tincture, while the plurality of the market uses 1oz. We do this is for two important reasons:
First, by doubling the tincture size, we double the servings, allowing the user to dose their serving more accurately. There may only be 30 servings in a 1oz tincture which give more room for error when consuming. If you are looking for 16.6mg per serving from our 500mg tincture, the solution is easy- take two servings!
Secondly, 2oz allows us to better dilute the hemp extract more with MCT oil providing a much better taste at no additional cost.
